ECOsoils® is a manufacturer and producer of growing medias. We have been producing soils for hundreds of growing applications throughout the Baltimore/Washington DC/Northern Virginia/Pennsylvania area since 2004. Our products have been widely accepted by city and county governments, Maryland State Highway, Army Corp of Engineers, US Federal Government and the US National Park Service. The soils that are produced are utilized in an array of plantings, green roofs, over structure applications, structural soil applications and bio retention for storm water quality. We have manufactured, produced and sold over a half a million tons of soils.

Soil Production Facts

All soils manufactured and produced by ECOsoils® are blended so the finished product is of the utmost quality. Even our Topsoil is blended from different textured topsoils from various locations. This process allows the sand, silt, clay and organic matter content to be in a ratio the makes it conducive to vigorous plant growth.The soils used in the blending process are inspected and if need be tested prior to our acceptance and are defiantly tested before blending. Soils testing for finished product quality are performed by an independent laboratory certified and recognized by the jurisdictions we serve on a continual basis. Some in house tests are performed on at least a monthly basis. Testing is performed based on the volume of the material manufactured and sold.Other blended growing medias are produced using various ingredients such as; clay, silt, sand, compost hardwood mulch, lightweight aggregates, pine fines/bark, Perlite, Stalite, Hydrocks, topsoil and Vermiculite. The ingredients, ratios and particle sizes are determined by a landscape architect to best met the criteria of the application and environment.All products are screened through 3/8 inch screens.
